Cilj izdanja bio je da se osnovna znanja o zdravlju, bolestima, higijeni i lečenju približe ljudima bez medicinskog obrazovanja. Knjige su napisane jednostavnim i razumljivim stilom, a obrađivale su teme kao što su kožne bolesti, ishrana, zdravlje dece, seksualno zdravlje i prevencija bolesti. Izdanje je igralo važnu obrazovnu ulogu u vreme kada medicinske informacije nisu bile lako dostupne široj javnosti.
