Uzbuna na Zelenom Vrhu

Ivan Kušan

"Uzbuna na Zelenom Vrhu" is a crime novel for young people about a group of boys from the outskirts of a big city. This is the first of Kušan's children's novels, and soon after it was published it became indispensable literature on the school reading lis

The novel is set near a forest and a large lake in the immediate aftermath of World War II. Uncertainty, sadness and a bit of despair of the elderly population are felt all the time due to an uncertain future and less and less hope for a better tomorrow. Due to the bad economic situation, more and more people are turning to orchards and vineyards, which are described in detail in the book and which are a source of income for many.

The story focuses on five boys who spend their free time like other children, inventing new games and embarking on daily adventures that they will be able to remember with joy when they grow up one day.

The novel "Ubuna na Zeleni Vrhu" consists of thirty chapters. The plot begins at the very beginning when the dog of the Milić family is poisoned. At the beginning of the novel, there is an introduction to the characters and plot, and the reader can find out all the details at the moment of the plot. The climax of the story follows when there is a chase after the thieves, and the ending or denouement follows with the description of the boy Tom, who is all beaten up and waiting for his friends.

Due to the dynamics from the very beginning of the book and a lot of elements of crime but also humor, a strong sense of justice, great courage and uncertainty until the very end, the story of the exciting adventures of Koko and friends will find fans in every next generation.
