The crossword novel, as Pavić defined his Landscape painted with tea, is a metaphor for the intersection of various lives, various life stories and destinies.
By changing his own name, Pavić's hero also changes his identity and seems to pass from one life to another, from one novel to another. The landscapes that an ajunak paints with tea during his life are a picture of his soul, the history of his life, but they are also a connection with history itself, with the past and the tradition from which we originate. The story of creativity, of the urge to build and paint, which at first cannot manifest itself, and then creates miracles, is the story of a man, of gaining self-confidence, of love.
