Frano Supilo

Frano Supilo was a prominent Croatian politician and journalist, known for his work at the beginning of the 20th century, especially in the context of the Yugoslav movement and the fight against Hungarianization and Germanization.

Frano Supilo (1870-1917) is one of the most important Croatian politicians. He saw the essence of political problems in the perniciousness of Great Serbian politics, so from the original idea of a joint South Slavic state, he started a fight against the unification and independence of Croatia in the hope of saving its territorial integrity and national identity. The first part of the book is dedicated to the life and work of Fran Supil written by Vasa Bogdanov, and the second part contains Supil's texts under the common title Politics in Croatia. They give an insight into his thoughts and views, memories of historical events in Croatia, from the reign of Khuen Hedervary, through the coalition and finally with the year 1911.
