Josip Jakov Planinić

This collection reflects Planinić's love of language and poetry, exploring themes of love and intimacy through verse.

Josip Jakov Planinić was a prominent Croatian scientist and poet. He was born in Sarajevo in 1941, and was educated in Travnik and Zagreb, where he graduated in atomic physics at the University of Zagreb. As a scientist, he worked at the Ruđer Bošković Institute, and later taught at the University of Osijek. He was also rector of the University of Osijek from 1994 to 1997.

In addition to scientific work, Planinić was also known as an author of poetry. His collection of haiku poetry "The Four Seasons" and the books "The Power of Words" and "History of Philosophy" testify to his broad intellectual curiosity and contribution to Croatian culture.
