Majka

Majka

Janko Matko

This novel is a novel about a very self-sacrificing mother and wife who took care of her family's well-being all her life.

Zorka is an extremely caring and kind mother who devoted her entire life to caring for her sixteen children. Born in Zagreb in Tkalčićeva Street, the beautiful Zorka was the only child of good parents, locksmith Petar Dražić and mother Kate. Proud of their sweet and good-natured daughter, they still expected her at the age of sixteen to very quickly decide on one of their assistants as a lifelong partner. But Zorka chose love! Awkward, maybe, but real! Love brought sixteen children, but also a life that did not pamper them. But one thought is important here, that of her husband Antun: ˝... I would not give any treasure, glittering jewels, shiny gold, luxury and wealth for the happiness and satisfaction I feel with you and our children.˝
