Priče iz davnine

Priče iz davnine

Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić

First, she conquered her homeland with Šegrta Hlapić, and then the world with Tales from the Past. Painters also helped her in this, because it was extremely important to Ivana that her characters get a recognizable look.

There isn't an even more important painter who didn't try his hand at illustrating these two famous books. However, until today it was not known that sixteen-year-old Krsto Hegedušić was among the first. His unknown cartoon is finally published after one hundred years of oblivion and one hundred years of the first edition of the most popular Croatian book.
