The book presents a chronology of intellectual and civil resistance during the homeland war. Compare the Croatian text and the English translation.
The book contains an account of the history of Croatia from 1918 to 1998 in four historical periods (1918-1941; 1941-1945, 1945-1990 and 1990-1998).
In the book, the strategy of framing the nation and collective identities from the top down and from the bottom up was implemented through the commemorative practices of events from the Second World War and the Homeland War in Croatia.
The authors pointed out the demographic situation in Croatia in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the demographic trends in the war-affected areas of Croatia, the demographic war losses and the long-term demographic consequences of the war.
Journalist Milan Ivkošić said that the book contains texts by authors who differ ideologically and that some of them do not share Glavaš's views, but, as he maintains, wrote objectively about his case.
