"Madame Bovary" is a novel by Gustave Flaubert that follows the life of Emma Bovary, a young woman who dreams of a passionate and exciting life, but faces the monotony and unfulfillment of her marriage to provincial doctor Charles Bovary.

Emma, inspired by romantic books, feeling trapped in a small town, begins to look for excitement outside of marriage. She meets Rodolphe Boulanger, with whom she begins a passionate love affair, but when their relationship falls apart, Emma turns to another lover, Léon. However, none of these relationships bring her lasting satisfaction.

In her search for material wealth and luxury, Emma goes into debt, which further worsens her situation. In the end, faced with the consequences of her choices and unfulfilled dreams, Emma decides to take a tragic step and begins to poison herself. Her life ends tragically, leaving behind misunderstanding and suffering.

The novel explores the themes of love, disappointment, the search for identity and criticism of social norms, and leaves a strong impression of the anxiety and despair of the protagonist.
