Uspavana ljepotica

Uspavana ljepotica

Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairy tale by Charles Perrault and the Brothers Grimm about love, patience and the triumph of good over evil.

The king and queen wanted a child for a long time. When their daughter is finally born, they invite the fairies to a celebration to give her gifts. However, they forget to call an evil fairy. Offended, the fairy comes to the celebration and curses the princess: when she turns 16, she will prick herself on a spindle and die. One good fairy manages to soften the curse, so instead of dying, the princess will fall into a hundred-year sleep, from which she will be awakened by the kiss of true love.

Despite the king's efforts to destroy all the spindles in the kingdom, the princess impales herself on the spindle on her 16th birthday and falls asleep. The whole kingdom falls asleep, surrounded by thick thorns.

After a hundred years, a young prince arrives and makes his way through the thorns to the castle. He finds the sleeping princess and kisses her. His kiss breaks the curse, everyone wakes up, and the princess and prince fall in love and get married.

Lesson of the story: Love and kindness always conquer evil, and patience brings happiness.
