Cvrčci u trubi: antologija hrvatske antiratne poezije
In Croatia, pacifist poetry appeared as a strong response to war violence, and emerged from the depths of suffering as a form of resistance to war and violence. At the same time, this poetry expressed uncontrolled anger and hope, intuition and memory.
The anthology "Crickets in the Trumpet" was named after the metaphor of Tomislav Domović, one of the editors, a poet and warrior, who wrote several anti-war collections of poems (Živo blato, Imperativi, Hrvatski bog Amor, Kaverne) and the famous poem Pjesma pojelo nejnelo ninik (Song of a fallen warrior). Some Croatian classics are represented in the book, and "less well-known, forgotten and excellent in witnessing and participating in the Homeland War, warriors, soldiers, fighters or soldiers, mostly artists, poets, painters, sculptors and actors are also included. And according to ethical standards, poets of a tragic fate, sufferers and those who were killed during the siege of Vukovar" (from the foreword of the anthology, Biserka Goleš Glasnović).
