Woman and the Salvation of the World
In this work, Evdokimov, an Orthodox theologian, criticizes the dominance of men in society and the Church, arguing that it is the cause of many contemporary problems.
He advocates for an authentic Christian anthropology that recognizes men and women as complementary, but with different charisms and vocations. Using Scripture, patristic theology, history, philosophy, and psychology, especially Jungian, Evdokimov explores the role of women in the salvation of the world. He particularly emphasizes Mary, the Mother of God, as the archetype of the feminine principle, linking her to the Holy Spirit and spiritual motherhood. Although he does not support the ordination of women, he emphasizes their unique spiritual role in the Church. The work calls for the recognition of women's charisms and their importance in theological and social contexts.
