In this novel, the prolific writer writes about the fate of a little girl, Diana, whose widower father dies, leaving her daughter without protection. In her will, she leaves the management of the estate to her friend Hermann, who has been devastated by the economic crisis. In this way, she ensures a life for him, his wife Brigitte, and their son Lothar, and entrusts Diana to safe and honest hands.
