The story was published by Mijat Stojanović in his book Folk Tales and Poems, published in 1867. Along with it, Stojanović noted: "In Samac from the merchant Marko from Kobaš, grad. krajina year 1835."
The book consists of a series of interesting, witty and imaginative stories that convey important life messages through play and humor.
"Dad, You're Crazy", a novel by William Saroyan published in 1957, and in Croatia in 1958 in the Vjeverica library, is a moving and autobiographical story told from the perspective of a ten-year-old boy, Jamie, inspired by Saroyan's son Aram.
