Kako ste?
The book contains six major newspaper reports that describe six groups marginalized in Croatian society, where the heroes of these reports are not types, but rather unique, courageous and individualized.
Genre-wise, these texts are not classic newspaper reports, as they are noticeably longer and more detailed than them, and the author herself (an award-winning journalist who regularly writes for print and electronic media in Croatia and abroad) states that her role model in writing was narrative journalism, which was formed in the 1980s in the USA. This specifically means that the texts are based exclusively on facts, although they are extensive, stylistically diverse and extremely fictionalized, and are the result of long-term preparations, documentation and interviews with the heroes themselves and numerous witnesses. In addition to the daily struggles of their protagonists, these reports perhaps speak even more about the indifference, and sometimes cruelty, of institutions that should care for the weakest and most vulnerable members of society, and thus the author brings a strong criticism of contemporary Croatian society as a whole.
