Svjetska književnost zapadnoga kruga

Svjetska književnost zapadnoga kruga

Ivan Slamnig

This book describes the works of fifty-six Croatian writers in comparison to eight hundred world authors.

What we understand by the name of world literature of the Western circle extends spatially from Buenos Aires to Moscow and from Athens to San Francisco, and covers a period of almost a thousand years, from the mid-Middle Ages to the present day. A general knowledge of this literature has long been considered a significant part of a good education, which is not only literary but also culturally and historically relevant. This book follows the named literature in all its forms: genre (poetry, prose, drama) and stylistic formation (from the Renaissance to the postmodern era of our days).
