Svjetska književnost zapadnoga kruga od srednjega vijeka do današnjih dana

Svjetska književnost zapadnoga kruga od srednjega vijeka do današnjih dana

Ivan Slamnig

This book describes the works of fifty-six Croatian writers in relation to eight hundred world authors. The third, supplemented edition.

What we understand by the name of world literature of the Western circle extends spatially from Buenos Aires to Moscow and from Athens to San Francisco, and in time spans almost a thousand years, from the middle of the Middle Ages to our days. A brief knowledge of that literature has long been considered a significant part of a good education, which is not only literary but also cultural-historical. This book follows the named literature in all its forms: genre (poetry, prose, drama) and stylistic formation (from the Renaissance to the postmodern of our days).
