Josip Cvenić's book "Reflections from the End of the Century" (1997) is a collection of essays and reflections in which the author considers social, cultural, and political changes at the turn of the 20th to the 21st century.
Cvenić analyzes the state of contemporary society, especially in the context of the post-Yugoslav space, touching on topics such as identity, transition, war experiences and moral dilemmas that accompany a period of great change. His texts often combine personal experience with a critical review of broader social processes. The author questions the role of intellectuals, culture and media in a time of crisis of values and warns of the dangers of superficiality, manipulation and loss of ethical standards.
