Život jednog izumitelja : Krešo Mikulić

Milka Tica

The 408-page work about the famous winemaker and inventor with an American address is signed by Dr. Milka Tica from Podledinac near Grude, who lives and works in Zagreb.

Mikulić was born on the mountain Vučipolje, in the municipality of Posušje, on September 13, 1934, as the eighth child. He completed his junior high school in Široki Brijeg, and he attended high school for electrical engineering in Sarajevo, where he completed his carpentry trade. Because of his love for gymnastics, he moved to Zagreb, where he graduated from electrical engineering school. He enrolled in electrical engineering studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Zagreb in 1956, and graduated in 1960, earning a degree in electrical engineering. In 1967 he moved to Canada and then went to Chicago where he worked as a designer in a company that developed systems for nuclear power plants. He spends the rest of his life in Cincinnati. In America, he achieved numerous successes in the field of design: he worked for NASA, Formula 1, Honda, and the American military industry on the Black Hawk helicopter and B-1 bomber. He also worked on an airplane engine for the American president!
