Priča o doktoru Dolittleu

Hugh Lofting

Doctor Dolittle learns to speak animal language and becomes an animal doctor. He and his friends embark on a dangerous journey to help sick monkeys in Africa.

The Story of Doctor Dolittle is a children's adventure novel by Hugh Lofting about an unusual doctor with a great love for animals. Doctor John Dolittle lives in a small English town and gradually gives up treating people in order to devote himself to animals, which he understands better than most people.

With the help of his parrot Polynesia, he learns to speak the language of animals. Thanks to this special ability, he can talk to his animal friends, understand their problems and help them in a way that no one else can. His home becomes a refuge for numerous animals who trust and respect him.

One day, the doctor receives news that the monkeys in Africa are seriously ill. Without hesitation, he decides to embark on a long and dangerous journey across the sea to help them. Along the way, he is accompanied by his faithful animal friends, and together they go through many adventures, face storms, pirates and various other challenges.

Lofting depicts animals as intelligent beings who have feelings and deserve understanding. Filled with humor, imagination, and warmth, the work encourages readers to develop a love of nature and animals. With its engaging plot and memorable characters, The Tale of Doctor Dolittle has remained one of the most famous classics of children's literature.
