The American Dream of a Boy from Trešnjevka (2007) is an autobiographical work by Croatian-American entrepreneur and politician Boris Mikšić. In this book, the author provides a chronological and firsthand account of his fascinating life journey—from growing up in modest circumstances in the Zagreb neighborhood of Trešnjevka and emigrating to the United States, to achieving outstanding business success and later engaging in politics in Croatia. Through the experience of founding Cortec Corporation—a company specializing in corrosion protection—the author illustrates the classic "American Dream" realized through persistence, an inventive spirit, and hard work.
