Osamdesete – slatka dekadencija postmoderne brings together 21 songs connecting new wave, pop and rock from the former Yugoslav music scene. Spanning the late seventies to the closing years of the eighties, the selection follows changes in sound, themes and mood. It is a musical journey through a time when rebellious guitars, electronic rhythms and sweeping pop melodies shared the airwaves.
Prljavo kazalište’s Televizori opens the programme, followed by Pekinška patka’s Biti ružan, pametan i mlad. Električni orgazam’s Krokodili dolaze and Šarlo akrobata’s Niko kao ja represent its more restless side. Film’s live recording of Neprilagođen further highlights the immediacy and energy of the period.
Idoli’s Rusija and Dorian Gray’s Sjaj u tami create a different atmosphere, while Haustor’s Radnička klasa odlazi u raj adds a distinctive songwriting perspective. Denis i Denis’s Program tvog kompjutera and Xenia’s Troje bring dance rhythms to the foreground. Partibrejkers, Bijelo dugme, Riblja čorba, The Animatori and Zabranjeno pušenje also contribute to the selection.
The final stretch explores further shades of the scene: Đavoli, Leb i sol and Plava trava zaborava precede Parni valjak’s Jesen u meni, Psihomodo pop’s Ja volim samo sebe and Dino Dvornik’s Zašto praviš slona od mene. Its variety of styles makes this compilation appealing both to nostalgic listeners and to those discovering the era for the first time. Each song has its own character, and together they offer a portrait of a sound that still invites exploration.
