Prvi ciklus: Deset godina rada kulturnog i naučnog centra "Milutin Milanković" (2009-2019)

Đorđe Nešić

Đorđe Nešić’s monograph documents the first ten years of the Cultural and Scientific Center in Dalj, which is dedicated to preserving the life, work, and rich scientific and cultural heritage of Milutin Milanković.

The book "The First Cycle" by Đorđe Nešić presents in detail and chronologically the first ten years of activity of the Cultural and Scientific Center "Milutin Milanković" in Dalje, the birthplace of one of the greatest Serbian and world scientists. The author, who is himself a long-time director of the Center and a prominent writer, gathers in this monograph rich archival materials, documents, photographs and records about the extremely fruitful period from 2009 to 2019. The text describes the process of rebuilding Milanković's birthplace and its remodeling and development into a modern scientific and cultural complex. The book follows the realization of numerous scientific gatherings, exhibitions, lectures, workshops and publishing projects, the goal of which was the revaluation and popularization of Milanković's contributions to climatology, astronomy and geophysics. In addition to the scientific aspect, the monograph also emphasizes the importance of the Center as a cultural focal point of regional importance that connects scientists, artists and visitors from the region and the world. Nešić's synthetic and documentary-precise approach provides lasting testimony to the revitalization of Milanković's legacy and to the successfully completed "first cycle" of the work of this important institution.
