Vrtni patuljak

Vrtni patuljak

Nada Zidar-Bogadi

This is a story about a little girl and her growing up, and about love, friendship, renunciation and loyalty of a garden gnome, of which there are quite a few in the city.

In the story, an old tiger cat, a faithful swallow and a colorful butterfly play important roles. All of them spend time together in the tranquility of the garden for years, and then one spring the little girl grows up! The little girl stops practicing dance moves because she is no longer interested in ballet, she no longer plays in the shade of pines and ash trees, she stops petting her faithful old cat, feeding a swallow, catching a butterfly with her eyes and confiding her childhood secrets to her kind and modest garden gnome. He stops socializing with nature and no longer notices his friends from yesterday. She begins to live in a different reality where her childhood friends no longer exist. Unreal characters from television series suddenly enter her life! The animals are a bit confused by the change, but they have to continue living without the girl. Will the garden gnome leave her too?
