Krik helidona

Krik helidona

Robert Ladlam

The Cry of Heliodon is a novel by Robert Ludlum, first published in 1974 under the pseudonym Jonathan Ryder. This is one of Ludlum's earlier thrillers, combining espionage, adventure and the dark secrets of international organizations.

The main character, Alex McAuliff, a respected surveyor and explorer, receives an offer he cannot refuse – millions of dollars to lead an expedition in Jamaica. His task is to carry out geodetic surveys for a global conglomerate. But Alex soon discovers that the mission hides dark motives.

In Jamaica, he faces secret organizations, deadly conspiracies and the mysticism of the indigenous people, the Helidon. His task turns into a fight for survival, as he tries to discover what is behind the conspiracies that threaten not only him, but the future of the entire area.

The novel combines elements of a spy story with adventure research and social commentary on the influence of Western powers on less developed countries. The Cry of Heliodon delivers an exotic and tense story with characteristic Ludlum pace and unpredictable twists. For fans of international thrillers with a touch of adventure and political criticism, this is a work that will keep you in suspense until the last page.
