Čovjek samomu sebi

Čovjek samomu sebi

Anton Trstenjak

A person's mental state is similar to their physical state. When faced with a psychologist, they feel the same way as when faced with a doctor: even the best medicine is of no use if the patient will not take it or can no longer take it.

Thus we come to the interesting conclusion that the business of personal counseling is indeed already in second place. In first place is counseling oneself. A person must be his own counselor - that is the first motto that must be before our eyes in life. Only then, when that is no longer enough, when it cannot be done without the help of others, when the clarity and judgment of our own mind fail, do we have to turn to another counselor. But then we are already in danger that others will no longer be able to help us successfully, because we may become inaccessible to their advice, either because we "cannot" see, or at least because we cannot "follow" what they recommend to us.
