Dama s kamelijama

Dama s kamelijama

Alexandre Dumas

The Lady with Camellias (La dame aux camélias) is Alexandre Dumas' most famous work. This is the story of the love of two young people, Marguerite Gautier and Armand Duval. Although relationships between men and women have always been complicated enough on their own, this is no typical tale of unrequited love. Marguerite Gautier is a young Parisian courtesan, tall, with dark eyes and painted eyebrows, and Armando Duval is a lawyer and a young man from a distinguished family.

Marie Duplessis, the most famous courtesan in history, was also the inspiration for the novel.
