The novel "Vultures of the Old World" by author Tea Tulić, published in 2023, tells a melancholic story about the relationship between a father and daughter in the Mediterranean city of Rijeka.

Through 41 short chapters, the daughter tells of the moments she shared with her father, their fishing trips on the Kaljinka boat, and the memories of the deceased Volga and Bug, which continue to haunt them. When their father falls ill, their world changes, confronting them with new challenges. This novel, rich in lyrical, psychological, and social elements, won the tportal award for the best Croatian novel of 2024.
