Since giving birth to her son five years ago, Jane has never lived anywhere for more than six months. She has been constantly moving to escape her past. Now, drawn to its shores by the idyllic town of Pirriwee, Jane feels like she finally belongs. She befriends the energetic Madeline and the stunningly beautiful Celeste, two women who seem to have the perfect lives, but also have secrets of their own. But at the start of term, an incident on the playground involving the children of all three women creates a rift between them and the other parents. The rift is small at first, but it grows wider as the gossip and rumors become vicious and malicious, and the truth turns into a lie. It was clear from the start that it would all end in tears, but no one thought it would end in murder…
