Justified
Justin Timberlake's 2002 debut album "Justified" brought a modern R&B and funk sound that launched him to the top of pop music, with timeless hits like "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body."
Released in late 2002 by Jive Records, “Justified” is Justin Timberlake’s debut studio album, successfully launching his solo career after his time with *NSYNC. The album stands as one of the most important pop and R&B releases of the early 2000s, and its huge success paved the way for Timberlake’s status as one of the biggest global music stars of the new millennium.
The album’s sonic identity was dominantly shaped by the leading producers of the era — The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo) and Timbaland. Their vision combined infectious funk and R&B rhythms, urban hip-hop elements, and influences from Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. The release is marked by anthological singles that conquered global charts: dance favorites “Like I Love You” and “Rock Your Body”, the impressive ballad “Cry Me a River” with Timbaland’s recognizable sonic signature, and the energetic “Señorita”.
"Justified" won two Grammy awards and achieved multi-million copies worldwide. With its impeccable production, memorable melodies and Timberlake's signature vocals, this album is an essential part of any serious collection of contemporary pop and R&B music.
