Zagor LU #261: Pod južnim nebom
Zagor confronts fanatics in earthquake-stricken Concepción before resuming his pursuit of Dexter Green on a voyage towards the stormy southern seas.
Pod južnim nebom links the conclusion of Zagor’s Chilean adventure with a new stage of his South American journey. Destruction, fanaticism and the dangers of sailing follow one another in an issue that offers little respite.
In earthquake-stricken Concepción, Zagor protects a group including Charles Darwin from the followers of Frate Tomas. The pursuit of Dexter Green then returns to the foreground, but boarding the Marilena brings fresh trouble.
The opening section builds the tension of a siege, combining the physical instability of a devastated city with violence driven by fanaticism. Burattini’s conclusion gives way to Mignacco’s maritime adventure, changing both the setting and the nature of the threat.
Urban ruins are replaced by open water, a storm and the uncertainty of travelling towards the continent’s southern extremes. Zagor’s determination provides continuity, while the new surroundings introduce a different set of challenges and relationships.
Sedioli and Verni illustrate the conclusion of the Chilean conflict, with Sedioli continuing the new storyline. This issue closes one adventure and begins another, continued in Kamena šuma and concluded in Vrijeme sudbine.
