Zagor Extra Retro #14: Sablast -
Zagor confronts a masked enemy and his men. As the eagle adventure reaches its conclusion, the disappearance of elderly sailors in Kingston introduces a new mystery.
In Sablast, Zagor continues his confrontation with the mysterious masked adversary encountered in Kralj orlova. Having faced the danger of the eagles, he must outwit the enemy’s men and uncover the circumstances behind their actions. The unsettling figure’s past holds an important part of the explanation.
Intimidation and deception become weapons on both sides. Nolitta builds the conclusion around the gap between what Zagor’s enemies believe and his ability to upset their expectations. A threat that appears almost supernatural gradually acquires a human background, linking the adventure to revenge and the consequences of the past.
The latter part of the issue moves to Kingston, where the disappearance of former sailors opens another investigation. The secret of a riverboat’s crew introduces a search for lost treasure, developed in the following instalments.
Gallieno Ferri illustrates both stories. Rather than a self-contained adventure, Sablast bridges the resolution of one mystery and the beginning of another. It follows Kralj orlova and leads into Šestorica s „Plave zvijezde”, making it an important connecting issue for readers following the sequence.
