Jan Kott

“Rozalindin spol” (1992.) je knjiga eseja poljskoga kazališnog kritičara Jana Kotta, njegovo zrelo ostvarenje napisano nakon umirovljenja na newyorškom sveučilištu i povratka u rodnu Poljsku.

Ovom knjigom Kott je zaokružio ciklus bavljenja Shakespeareovom dramaturgijom i njezinom povijesnom (političkom) interpretacijom. Za Kotta, ta je dramaturgija zrcalo suvremenosti, vremena u kojemu se linearno razumijevanje povijesti kao neprestanog “napretka” smjenjuje cikličkim poimanjem, a prometejska figura smijenjena je faustovskom. Osim toga, Shakespeareov dijalog s tradicijom i suvremenošću obogaćen je novim razumijevanjem promijenjenog koda suvremenih običaja – posebice odnosa među spolovima.
