Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz

Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz (Kalnik, Ukraine, 1894 – Warsaw, 1980), Polish poet, prose writer, playwright; translator, editor of literary and cultural magazines; diplomat, member of the Sejm, in a word – a man-institution. After World War II, he was the president of the Polish Writers' Union for many years. He published Nowiny Literackie (1947-1948), and from 1950 until his death, he was the editor-in-chief of the respected magazine Twórczość.
