Bartolomejska noć: knjiga 1-2
This book focuses on one of the bloodiest events in French history – St. Bartholomew's Day in 1572, when thousands of French Protestants were massacred in Paris and across the country.
The novel depicts the days leading up to the massacre, court intrigue, internal divisions, and the bloody climax of St. Bartholomew's Day. Dumas's "St. Bartholomew's Day" portrays the dark side of history through a tense and emotional narrative, vividly depicting the destructive power of fanaticism, political intrigue, and personal tragedy. The 1966 edition is an abridged version, but it still offers a powerful and moving look at one of the most shocking events in European history. Dumas uses historical figures but adds emotional and adventurous depth to them.
