Mosaïque
The European CD release of Gipsy Kings' Mosaïque album brings a superb rumba flamenco sound, acoustic virtuosity, and timeless Latin hits like "Volare" and "Trista Pena".
Released in 1989 by the renowned TELDEC label (in collaboration with PEM/A&M), this European CD edition of the album Mosaïque represents one of the key achievements in the discography of the Gipsy Kings. On this album, the famous Franco-Spanish band continues its winning streak, combining passionate, traditional rumba flamenco with receptive pop structures and rich, modern production intended for a global audience.
The disc exudes incredible energy, carried by a recognizable, thunderous rhythm of multiple acoustic guitars and rough, emotional vocal performances. The main star of this release is undoubtedly the planetary megahit "Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu)", which in their temperamental arrangement has become the band's trademark. Other outstanding tracks stand out, such as "Caminando Por El Calle", the touching "Trista Pena" and impressive instrumental bravura that showcases the superb playing skills of the group members.
As an authentic example of the peak of the world music wave of the late 1980s, this TELDEC CD edition of the album Mosaïque is an indispensable part of any serious music collection and a must-read for lovers of Mediterranean sound and flamenco.
