Zagor LU #133: Strava u tami -
At a laboratory hidden in a swamp, Zagor investigates Professor Howenstein’s experiments. A missing-person search exposes the horrifying cost of his vision of human perfection.
In Strava u tami, Zagor and Chico continue their search for Leonard Sanders, Professor Howenstein’s missing assistant. Leonard’s sister Dorothy refuses to accept the official account of his fate. Their enquiries lead to New Genesis, a laboratory concealed deep within the isolated Green Shroud swamp.
The distinguished scientist presents his research as a step towards improving humanity. Yet strange creatures and violent incidents around his estate cast growing doubt on his intentions. Zagor gradually discovers experiments that blur the boundary between human and animal, turning the search for answers into a confrontation with man-made horror.
Alessandro Russo develops a science-fiction horror story about a corrupted ideal of perfection, with clear echoes of H. G. Wells’s The Island of Doctor Moreau. Beneath the adventure lies a conflict over responsibility, human dignity and research that treats people as expendable experimental subjects.
Gallieno Ferri’s swamp landscapes, shadows and monstrous figures reinforce the atmosphere of isolation and danger. This issue concludes the storyline begun in Ludens #132, Zeleni rubac, and offers a particularly dark adventure for readers drawn to Zagor’s encounters with the destructive misuse of science.
