Richard Whelan

Robert Capa (zapravo Endre Ernst Friedmann, u drugim pisanjima također André Friedmann ili Andrei Friedmann; * 22. listopada 1913. u Budimpešti, Austro-Ugarska; † 25. svibnja 1954. u Thá-Bìnhu u pokrajini Thái Bình, Francuska Indokina) bio je mađarsko-američki fotograf. Capa je bio najpoznatiji kao ratni reporter. Tijekom Španjolskog građanskog rata, Robert Capa i njegovi prijatelji dokumentirali su borbu republikanskih trupa protiv pobunjenih frankističkih trupa. Snimke su, među ostalim, objavljene u američkom časopisu Life i učinile ga poznatim. Fotografija palog republikanskog vojnika u trenutku njegove smrti snimljena je 5. rujna 1936. i postala je najpoznatija pojedinačna slika građanskog rata i fotografska ikona 20. stoljeća. Radeći kao životni reporter na fronti 1954., Capa je tijekom rata trebao poginuti od mine.
