Zagor LU #185: Mrtva šuma
On an island in the middle of a lake, Zagor seeks the secret of Entak’s power. Saving Chico and the prisoners means uncovering the truth behind the valley’s ruler.
Mrtva šuma concludes the adventure begun in Tajanstvena dolina and continued in Kraljevstvo strave. Zagor reaches the heart of Entak’s domain, where the secret of his power is linked to an unusual natural setting.
A great tree and a mysterious spring stand on a small island in a lake. Here Zagor must seek answers that could determine the fate of Chico, the captive soldiers and the valley ruler’s other victims.
Ade Capone combines adventure with a mystery of power and subjugation. The unknown gradually takes shape as Zagor approaches the explanation of his opponent’s past. Suspense depends on discovering the truth quickly enough to help those in danger.
Gallieno Ferri creates a threatening atmosphere through isolated landscapes, expressive faces and immediate physical peril. Forest, water and the secluded island reinforce the sense of confinement within an enemy’s territory, where the limits of that enemy’s abilities remain uncertain.
The issue completes the storyline spanning Ludens #183–185, in which an investigation into disappearances develops into a confrontation with Entak’s rule. The conclusion reveals the mystery’s background while keeping the rescue of the captives at its centre.
