Irwin Shaw
Irwin Shaw američki je književnik (New York, 27.11 1913 - Davos, Švicarska, 16. V. 1984.) Dragovoljno je sudjelovao u II. svjetskom ratu, koji je u slavnom romanu Mladi lavovi (1948) prikazao s motrišta obiju suprotstavljenih strana. Zbog kritike makartizma izrečene u romanu Uskomešani eter (1951.) bio je pozvan na saslušanje i uvršten na crnu listu. Izbjegao je u Europu gdje su nastali njegovi romani Lucy Crown (1956.), Bogataš i siromah (1970.), Večer u Bizantu (1973.), Prihvatljivi gubitci (1982.) i drugi.
