The Dreamers (published in German as Paradies auf dem Vulkan) is a striking novel by Ellen Bromfield Geld, daughter of the famous writer Louis Bromfield. Drawing inspiration from her own life in South America, the author sets the plot in the vast and lush landscapes of Brazil, where people of different backgrounds meet, driven by a common need – the search for their own dreams and a new beginning.
At the center of the story is Lia, a woman deeply connected to nature and the land on which she lives.
