Zagor LU #276: Hellgate u plamenu
The army threatens to bombard Hellgate. Zagor races to free the hostages and uncover Legion’s plan, surrounded by convicts he helped put behind bars.
Hellgate u plamenu concludes the story begun in Pobuna. The army’s ultimatum is about to expire, turning the prison into a place where every lost moment endangers the hostages. Zagor must act before negotiations give way to cannon fire.
The rebels’ leader, Legion, conceals intentions that differ from his promises to the other prisoners. Discovering this offers Zagor little protection: he is surrounded by men with personal reasons to seek revenge against him.
Samuel Marolla constructs a prison thriller about manipulation and collective violence. The rebellion brings together competing interests, while an apparently shared objective disguises its leader’s separate agenda. Zagor must understand the relationships between his enemies and find a way out for those at risk, with outside pressure narrowing his options.
Paolo Bisi’s artwork emphasises confinement, crowded spaces and sudden eruptions of violence. Suspense comes from two simultaneous threats: the prisoners within the walls and the military force preparing to attack.
This issue completes the two-part storyline spanning Ludens #275–276, placing Zagor’s efforts to save lives between hidden plans, personal vengeance and an unforgiving deadline.
