Zagor LU #138: Traperska izvidnica -
Intrigue and ambition threaten the fur traders of Fort Wolf. Zagor and Chico enter a frontier struggle shaped by a sinister prophecy and echoes of Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
In Traperska izvidnica, Zagor and Chico encounter a fur-trading world where commercial rivalry becomes a dangerous struggle for power. An attack on a party of trappers leads them towards Fort Wolf, where the ageing McKean faces threats from ambitious associates. Competition between American and British trading interests creates fertile ground for betrayal, violence and concealed motives.
At the centre of the unfolding drama stands trapper Bill Eyck, whose future is foretold by an unusual shaman. The prospect of advancement begins to alter his loyalties. Zagor must uncover the forces behind a conflict that also threatens relations with the region’s Indigenous inhabitants.
Ottavio De Angelis draws on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, transplanting its themes of destructive ambition, temptation and moral decline to the American frontier. The result combines adventure and western storytelling with a psychological drama in which the desire for power can become more dangerous than an openly declared enemy.
Raffaele Della Monica illustrates the woodland setting, the trading outpost and the increasingly tense encounters. This issue opens a two-part adventure concluded in Ludens #139, Maska na licu.
