The Times : Atlas svjetske povijesti
A mapped survey of world history from prehistory to the twentieth century, featuring a global chronology, accounts of civilisations and a special section on the Yugoslav lands.
The Times Atlas of World History combines historical maps, explanatory texts and illustrations to trace human development from early communities to the modern world. Alongside political change and warfare, it explores economies, migration, culture and technology, encouraging comparison between civilisations and their connections.
Its thematic sections cover human origins, early civilisations, the classical Eurasian world, distinct cultural regions, Western expansion, European dominance and global civilisation. A world chronology places events across different regions alongside cultural and scientific achievements.
This 1986 Croatian edition adds a dedicated section on the Yugoslav lands, illustrated with 26 maps. It follows the region from Slavic settlement and medieval states through the Second World War and the period after 1945. Textual updates extend to 1985.
A glossary explains people, events and concepts, while an index helps locate geographical names. The atlas supports historical study and spatial understanding while also documenting the historiographical and political perspectives of the period in which this edition was prepared.
