Metloboj kroz stoljeća zamišljena je kao fikcijska knjiga iz svijeta Harryja Pottera, koju je "napisao" Kennilworthy Whisp. J. K. Rowling napisala je Metloboj kroz stoljeća da bi pomogla dobrotvornoj organizaciji Comic Relief.

Riječ je o zabavnom i informativnom prikazu povijesti metloboja – čarobnjačkog sporta koji se igra na letećim metlama. Knjiga opisuje razvoj metloboja od njegovih ranih oblika u srednjem vijeku, kada su čarobnjaci na metlama lovili razne kugle, do današnjeg modernog sporta s preciznim pravilima i pozicijama: tragača, batinara, čuvara i strijelca.
