"SIBIR" je jedno od najzanimljivijih djela suvremene sovjetske književnosti. Za ovaj roman Georgi Markov dobio je 1976. Lenjinovu nagradu.

"Moć Rusije je u Sibiru" ... pisao je još u 18. stoljeću veliki ruski znanstvenik Mihailo Lomonosov. Ali, ovaj nepregledan, surov i istovremeno prekrasan i prebogaz kraj je stoljećima bio tamnica najnaprednijih predstavnika ruskog naroda. Autor ove grandiozne knjige pripovijeda o Sibiru u vremenu uoči velike oktobarske socijalističke revolucije - o njegovim ljudima, o revolucionarima, o ljepotama tajge, o boljševicima koji će srušiti carsku samodržavnost i stvoriti prvu u svijetu državu radnika i seljaka. U središtu ovog romana je bijeg iz progonstva studenta Ivana Akimova i njegova strasna ljubav prema studentici Kači Ksenofontovoj. Paralelno s ovom, postoji još nekoliko sadržajnih linija u kojima se na dramatičan i živopisan način razotkrivaju samobitni karakteri i sudbine mnogobrojnih ličnosti. Roman je preveden na mnoge jezike.
