Designed to be a useful and reliable aid to all who use the Croatian standard language in their writing, Matica's Orthography, with its solutions, on the one hand fits well into the long and already established tradition of Croatian orthography, and on the other hand, by orthographically encompassing newer linguistic phenomena, it is extremely open to the advanced contemporary needs of multifunctional linguistic communication in various social groups, striving to orthographically systematize newly emerging linguistic phenomena. Matica Hrvatska wishes that this orthographic manual fully achieves its intended purpose: to be a real help in overcoming numerous orthographic difficulties for those who decide to express themselves in writing in the Croatian standard language.
