Istom nonšalantnom lakoćom kojom je 1975. rušio uvriježene socijalističke stereotipe o "radnom narodu i poštenoj inteligenciji", opisom svojih studentskih pijanki, tuluma i seksualnih eskapada, danas svjedoči o tome što je doista radila generacija naših "očeva". Tim više što su protagonisti knjige stvarne osoba iz zagrebačkog novinarskog i književnog miljea, skriveni većinom pod pseudonimima, pa su tako stranicama ove zbirke priča prodefilirali Inoslav Bešker, Antun Vujić, Žarko Puhovski i mnogi drugi. Vrijeme radnje su sedamdesete godine prošlog stoljeća, kada se u Zagrebu počinje polako stvarati nova i progresivna atmosfera, koja će nekoliko godina kasnije iznjedriti glazbeni Novi val, ali i dugoročno utjecajne novine, poput Poleta ili Starta.
