A luxury train journey is interrupted by the murder of an American heiress and the theft of valuable rubies. The famous detective Hercule Poirot must unravel a web of secret passions and lies.
When the luxurious Blue Train departs from London for sunny Nice, the passengers' intended journey turns into a nightmare. Young American heiress Ruth Kettering is found dead in her private compartment, and a precious ruby known as the "Heart of Europe" has disappeared without a trace from her body.
The case attracts the attention of the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, who by a coincidence also finds himself among the passengers. As the train speeds towards the Côte d'Azur, Poirot begins an investigation by dissecting the intricate relationships and ulterior motives of his unsuspecting fellow passengers. At the center of suspicion are Ruth's unhappy husband Derek Kettering, her mysterious lover and society darling adventurer, the Count de la Roche, and her cold-blooded and powerful father Rufus Van Aldin, who hires a private investigator to find the thief.
As secrets pile up and alibis begin to crack under the pressure, Poirot uses his famous psychological deduction to uncover layers of lies, jealousy, and greed. The Mystery of the Blue Train is Agatha Christie's classic novel steeped in the atmosphere of the Golden Age of Travel, in which the elegant backdrop of an international train is transformed into a claustrophobic stage for the perfect crime.
