Guido Nolitta

Guido Nolitta was the pen name of Italian screenwriter and publisher Sergio Bonelli (1932–2011), one of the most influential authors in the history of Italian comics. He was born in Milan as the son of Gianluigi Bonelli, creator of the legendary Tex Willer. To avoid confusion with his father, Sergio wrote under the name Guido Nolitta.

He is best known for creating the comic strip Zagor in 1961 in collaboration with cartoonist Gallien Ferri. Zagor, a mix of western, adventure and fantasy comics, quickly won the hearts of readers across Europe, especially in the Balkans, including Croatia. Nolitta also created the comic strip Mister No (1975), an antihero set in the Amazon after World War II, confirming his ability to create memorable and multi-layered characters.

His storytelling is characterized by strong emotionality, moral dilemmas and innovative plot. Although he later moved into editorial leadership, Nolitta forever remained a key figure in the development of Italian comics.
